Work from home culture and acute cardiovascular events: A bidirectional conundrum yet to be resolved!

We read with utmost interest the article by Versaci et al. [1], and realize that while it is true that the reduced pollution levels during working from home culture have a beneficial impact on cardiovascular health, it is imperative to note its negative impact through physical inactivity, social isolation and loneliness, which are known risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Coupled with this, a surge in alcohol consumption and drug abuse that has also been evident during the lockdown, has its implications on non-communicable diseases, especially cardiovascular disease [2].
