Recurrent COVID-19 including evidence of reinfection and enhanced severity in thirty Brazilian healthcare workers
The COVID-19 global pandemic caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) started in Wuhan, China, in December 2019, and has spread worldwide.1 The virus can infect the respiratory, gastrointestinal, hepatic and central nervous systems, with a high rate of severe cases requiring hospitalization.2 The average incubation period from SARS-CoV-2 exposure to symptom onset is approximately 4 –5 days, with 97.5% of symptomatic patients experiencing symptoms within 11.5 days.
