Cardiac magnetic resonance T1 mapping: A novel quality assurance program paving the way towards standardization and wider clinical practice

Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) is an instrumental tool for evaluating heart failure patients. It is widely regarded as the imaging gold standard for measuring chamber sizes and ejection fraction with high accuracy and reproducibility, and can characterize myocardial tissue composition to distinguish between ischemic and non-ischemic pathologies, with and without the use of gadolinium contrast [1,2].
