Dose accumulation for personalized stereotactic MR-guided adaptive radiation therapy in prostate cancer
Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) is an increasingly used treatment option for localized prostate cancer (PC), allowing precise delivery of up to five fractions of high biological radiation doses while sparing the surrounding bladder and rectum [1,2]. Several studies have shown an equal efficiency and tolerance for SBRT and conventionally fractionated treatments for PC, particularly for low and intermediate risk PC [3 –5]. Despite the increased clinical use of SBRT for PC, there is limited data on the relation between dosimetric parameters and toxicity or quality of life (QoL).
