Ventilator associated pneumonia in surgical and medical icu's in urban tertiatry care centre hospital

Conclusion: The high rates of VAP in this study indicates the need for active infection control & implementation of guidelines for infection prevention which will ensure improved patient safety in the ICUs and judicious use of antibiotics should be practiced .
