Advanced diagnosis of polycystic ovary syndrome —new prediction models with standard parameters

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine condition that has been well known for decades, with a prevalence of 8% to 13% in women of reproductive age (1). It is characterized by clinical or hormone findings of androgen excess, ovulatory disorders, and infertility, and a typical ovarian appearance. Metabolic disorders such as insulin resistance can be found in the majority of PCOS patients. However, a correct diagnosis is challenging, particularly in patients who have minor clinical symptoms.
