Detection of influenza A and adenovirus in captive wild birds in Bangladesh

Background: Avian Influenza viruses cause significant health concern to both animal and human health globally. Wild birds are the natural reservoirs of these virus. In Bangladesh, unregulated trafficking and hunting of wild birds, rehabilitation practices of wild birds into captivity increasing risk of transmission influenza, adeno and other viruses into captive birds and animals. But viral diversity of captive wild birds is still unexplored in Bangladesh. Hence the aim of this investigation was to decipher the diversity of viruses in rescued and captive wild birds at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park, Gazipur, Bangladesh.
