A Retrospective Evaluation of Airway Anatomy in Young Children and Implications for One-Lung Ventilation

ONE-LUNG ventilation (OLV) in young children remains technically challenging. With the advancement of less-invasive thoracoscopic techniques, there continues to be an escalating need for OLV via endobronchial intubation or bronchial blocker placement.1 Given this, it is important the clinician have some understanding of the anatomic constraints of the lower pediatric airway to safely and efficiently administer OLV.
