Plaque Quantification on Coronary CTA: The March Towards Standardization

The ability of coronary CTA to accurately diagnose angiographically significant coronary artery disease (CAD) forms the foundation for its increasing clinical utilization. While stenosis severity is usually the most prognostically powerful and clinically useful measure of CAD when assessing patients with stable or acute coronary syndromes, multiple studies have demonstrated the added value of coronary plaque features, extent of plaque involvement (segment involvement) and volumetric plaque quantification using increasingly automated approaches.
