Behavioral assessment of females with congenital adrenal hyperplasia.

CONCLUSION: Females with CAH had frequent and severe behavioral symptoms. Excess androgenization, which was in part due to suboptimal steroid therapy, was the cause of the behavioral problems. Therefore, early optimization of CAH management should be stressed to prevent psychological consequences. PMID: 32740726 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Abstract The mechanical properties of anterior skull base (ASB) bones are not well understood due to their complex geometry and deep location. However, it is of particular interest for skull base surgeons to appraise the force range they can apply during procedures and know what kind of haptic feedback a simulation device should produce in order to be realistic for trainees. The aim of this study was to establish a measurement protocol to set the level of hydration state, temperature and curve analysis method for spherical depth sensing nanoindentation of ASB bones. A definitive screening design method was used to...

Contributors : Hye-Yeon Seok ; Linh V Nguyen ; Yong-Hwan MoonSeries Type : Expression profiling by high throughput sequencingOrganism : Arabidopsis thalianaWe characterized and compared the biological and molecular functions of HRE1 α and HRE1β, two alternative splicing variants of HRE1, a AP2/ERF transcription factor in Arabidopsis. To compare the downstream regulatory mechanisms of HRE1α and HRE1β, Quant-Seq analysis was carried out. The experiment was designed to identify and compare differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between WT and HRE1α-overexpressing transgneic plants (OXs) and WT and H...

In this study, the impact of different metal salts in effective inactivation of enzyme activity was investigated by solid-phase microextraction (SPME) and GC/MS system in aqueous samples and kohlrabi matrix. A saturated solution of calcium chloride which is commonly used to stop enzyme activity in plant tissue inactivates the myrosinase–glucosinolate system. However, even without the participation of myrosinase, it changes the reaction pathway towards nitrile formation. The model experiment shows that optimum efficiency in inhibition of the enzyme system shows iron(III) ions, silver ions, and anhydride sodium sul...

Social interaction in individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is characterized by qualitative impairments that highly impact quality of life. Bayesian theories in ASD frame an understanding of underlying mechanisms suggesting atypicalities in the evaluation of probabilistic links within the perceptual environment of the affected individual. To address these theories, the present study explores the applicability of an innovative Bayesian framework on social visual perception in ASD and demonstrates the use of gaze transitions between different parts of social scenes. We applied advanced analyses with Bayesian Hidden...

Abstract The present study explores the correlation between electroencephalographic and neuroimaging asymmetry index from EEG-MRI functional connectome and EEG power analysis in inattention, motion, and mixed profile subgroups of ADHD. Sixty-two subjects from Healthy Brain Network Biobank of the Child Mind Institute dataset were selected basing on the quotient score. From both MRI and EEG asymmetry index, Pearson's correlation, ANOVA, and partial least square analysis were performed matching left and right brain parcels and channels. The asymmetry index significantly correlated across subjects between fMRI and pow...
