Pregnancy after heart transplantation: a second-generation transmission of the gift of life

We read with great interest the article by Acuna et al1, titled “Pregnancy outcomes in women with cardiothoracic transplants: A Systematic review and meta-analysis.” The authors investigated pregnancies following thoracic transplants.1 They concluded that delayed mortality for thoracic transplant recipients remains high and that these pregnancies continue to be at risk for hypertensive disorders, graft rejection, preterm birth, and neonatal mortality.1
