2014 Gatorade Sports Science Institute-American College of Sports Medicine Young Investigator Award Deadline: Feb 28, 2014 Amount: $2,500.00 A junior scientist in the fields of sports nutrition and/or exercise physiology will be recognized for scientific excellence. Their work, presented at the ACSM 2014 Annual Meeting in Orlando, FL, may be applied, mechanistic, protocol development or clinical research; however, must be related to helping athletes improve athletic performance. AWARD: One (1) Award of $2,500 USD will be offered. REQUIREMENTS: 1. Applicant must currently be a PhD student or within 2 years post-grad. 2. At the time of the ACSM 2014 Annual Meeting, applicants must be 32 years of age or younger. 3. Applicants may reside anywhere in the world but must be ACSM members. 4. Applications must be received at the ACSM office by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time (close of business) on February 28, 2014. 5. Applications must be directed to foundation@acsm.org.  Please type 2014 GSSI-ACSM Young Investigator Award in the e-mail subject line. 6. Announcement of award recipient will be made by April 4, 2014. 7. The ACSM Foundation will deliver the award check to the award recipient at the ACSM 2014 Annual Meeting. 8. To prevent conflicts of interest, students directly associated with ACSM selection committee representatives, or engaged in any fashion with the Gatorade Sports Science Institute, will not be eligible.
