Physiological changes in the size of the septal swell body correlate with changes in inferior turbinate size.

CONCLUSION: The septal swell body is a dynamic structure that varies in width over time in close correlation to the inferior turbinates. Further research is required to quantify its relevance as a surgical area of interest. PMID: 32241312 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Combination of Fluorine-18 Fluorodeoxyglucose Positron-Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography (¹⁸F-FDG PET/CT) and Tumor Markers to Diagnose Lymph Node Metastasis in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC): A Retrospective and Prospective Study. Med Sci Monit. 2020 Jun 02;26:e922675 Authors: Zhai X, Guo Y, Qian X Abstract BACKGROUND The early diagnosis of lymph node (LN) metastasis is crucial for patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, the diagnosis of LN metastasis mainly dependent on ¹⁸F-FDG PET/CT (fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron-emission tomography/computed tomo...

Authors: Vijayvergiya R, Kanabar K, Kaushal S, Lal A, Krishnan S Abstract A 42-year-old female with end-stage chronic kidney disease, who was on maintenance hemodialysis for the last 3 years, presented with facial and upper-limb swelling of 2-month duration. A computed tomography (CT) scan confirmed significant stenosis of the superior vena cava (SVC). Following discussion in a multidisciplinary meeting, it was proposed to perform a repeat endovascular intervention to relieve the SVC obstruction and manage the migrated stent. AbstractPurposeThe purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical accuracy of the fusion of intra-oral scans in cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans using two commercially available software packages.Materials and methodsTen dry human skulls were subjected to structured light scanning, CBCT scanning, and intra-oral scanning. Two commercially available software packages were used to perform fusion of the intra-oral scans in the CBCT scan to create an accurate virtual head model: IPS CaseDesigner ® and OrthoAnalyzer™. The structured light scanner was used as a gold standard and was superimposed on the vir...

We have read with great interest a recent study of Prof. Jin regarding the clinical features and outcomes of pregnant women suspected of 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19)1, especially the significance of pulmonary CT scan plus blood routine examination for screening COVID-19. Due to the worldwide outbreak of infection in the past few months, there were quite a number of urgent hospital admissions for delivery, many effective measures have been taken to reduce the incidence of nosocomial infection and the expansion of the epidemic.
