Special NIH Lecture: 2013 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry - The Birth and Future of Computational Structural Biology

More than 46 years ago, Dr. Michael Levitt was present at the genesis of computational structural biology, and indeed witnessed the emergence of computational biology as a field unto itself. His personal account of these historical events have previously been described elsewhere. Dr. Levitt along with Drs. Martin Karplus and Arieh Warshel won this year's Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the development of computer-based methods to model complex systems. Dr. Levitt's lecture will focus on scientific lessons learned from this work, some of the research that is ongoing in his group, followed by a discussion of his vision for the future of the field.Air date: 11/18/2013 4:00:00 PM
