Systematic Review of Patient-Reported Outcome Measures in Graft-versus-Host-Disease
Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality after hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT). Traditionally, GVHD was defined as acute and chronic based on time post-transplant, but more recently the 2 are distinguished by clinical and pathophysiologic features [1,2]. GVHD can affect individual organs or can be pleiotropic and can have profound impact on health-related quality of life (QOL) [3]. Chronic GVHD (cGVHD) has been associated with poor functional status, inability to return to work, disrupted activities of daily living, and increased symptom burden [4-6].
