Perioperative Lung Ultrasound in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit —Beyond the Vasculature and Parenchyma

IN THE United States, lung ultrasound is being used increasingly in intensive care units (ICUs) for both surgical and medical patients. Moreover, we are seeing a trend toward the use of bedside ultrasound to reduce reliance on diagnostic techniques that require radiation and/or intra-hospital transport of patients.
