AbstractPurposeTo assess the impact ofN-methylnaltrexone, a peripherally acting mu-opioid receptor antagonist, on the post-operative recovery of patients undergoing robotic-assisted radical cystectomy for bladder cancer.MethodsWe retrospectively reviewed patients undergoing robotic-assisted radical cystectomy by a single surgeon (KC) prior to (control group) and after (treatment group) the routine use ofN-methylnaltrexone. Kaplan –Meier curves and the log-rank test were used to quantify time to flatus, bowel movement, and discharge. Daily mean opioid use, daily pain assessment rating, and episodes of severe pain (7&n...

CONCLUSIONS This study was based on pharmacological networks results for the prediction of the multi-constituent, multi-target, and multi-pathway mechanisms of CKI, which might be a promising potential therapeutic and prevention candidate for anti-cancer. However, based on computer data mining and analysis, this study still needs to be further verified by in vivo/in vitro experiments, and the safety of CKI needs to be evaluated. We present a case of GCA in a patient who presented with jaw claudication and occlusal pain. A 78-year-old man visited our department with left-sided facial pain associated with mastication. He also reported spontaneous left-sided facial pain and diminished vision. Based on his age, his new-onset left-sided headache, and a high erythrocyte sedimentation rate, he was diagnosed with GCA with immediate initiation of prednisolone (PSL) therapy. His fever subsided the following day. A temporal artery biopsy (TAB) was performed 7 days after hospitalization and showed a false-negative result. His left-sided facial pain and headac...

CONCLUSION: Hyperthermic Mitomycin using the HIVEC® device is a rather safe and well tolerated treatment. Efficiency remains partial as 27.3% of patients experienced recurrence during the first year. These data should be confirmed by prospective multicentric studies. PMID: 31787540 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

AbstractPurpose of ReviewCentralized pain syndromes (CPS), including chronic pelvic pain (CPP) syndrome, are significant public health problems with prevalence more than diabetes, cancer, or cardiovascular disease. A variety of pathologies are linked with CPP syndrome; however, pain often continues without the presence of pathology, or when an underlying pelvic disease is found, the extent and severity of pain are disproportionate. Although this is not a systematic review, we performed a detailed literature search to identify relevant papers and to provide the available evidence for central changes in association with CPP ...
