CircRNA 010567 improves myocardial infarction rats through inhibiting TGF- β1.

CONCLUSIONS: CircRNA 010567 siRNA can improve the cardiac function, alleviate the MF, and inhibit the myocardial apoptosis, thereby further suppressing MI-induced MF, whose mechanism may be related to the inhibition on the TGF-β1 signaling pathway. PMID: 31957851 [PubMed - in process]

AbstractPremature coronary artery disease (CAD) studies rarely involve coronary plaque characterization. We characterize coronary plaque tissue by radiofrequency intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) in patients with premature CAD. From July 2015 to December 2017, 220 patients from the Department of Cardiology, Affiliated Hangzhou First People ’s Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine with first occurrence of angina or myocardial infarction within 3 months were enrolled. Patients with premature CAD (n = 47, males aged

This study aims to investigate whether HIF-1/BNIP3-mediated mitochondrial autophagy is involved in the restoration of sevoflurane postconditioning cardioprotection in diabetic state. Ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) model was established by ligating the anterior descending coronary artery and sevoflurane was administered at the first 15 min of reperfusion. Myocardial infarct size, mitochondrial ultrastructure and autophagosome, ATP content, mitochondrial membrane potential, ROS production, HIF-1α, BNIP3, LC3B-II, Beclin-1, P62, LAMP2 protein expression were detected 2 h after reperfusion, and cardiac function was evaluated...

This study aimed to characterize the culprit lesion morphology of AMI by optical coherence tomography (OCT) in patients with low LDL-C. METHODS: Four-hundred and nine culprit lesions of 409 patients with their first presentation of AMI imaged by OCT were investigated. OCT analysis included the presence of plaque rupture and thin-capped fibroatheroma (TCFA). Fibrous cap thickness and lipid length were also measured. Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) was performed in 368 (90.0%) patients. OCT and IVUS findings were compared between patients with LDL-C

ConclusionsEnvironmental epidemiology has revealed that several organs and systems in the human body are targets of air pollutants. Current imaging methods that can assess the deleterious effects of pollutants includes a whole spectrum: radiography, US, CT and MRI. Future studies will help to reveal additional links among environmental disease networks.

AbstractPrevious studies demonstrated that men were more likely to have plaque rupture and are at greater risk for myocardial infarction and stroke than women. We evaluated differences in carotid plaque characteristics by MRI between men and women with mild-moderate atherosclerosis and elevated ApoB levels. One hundred eighty-two subjects (104 men and 78 women) with CAD or carotid stenosis ( ≥ 15% by ultrasound), ApoB ≥ 120 mg/dL and carotid MRI scan were included. Percent wall volume (%WV) was calculated as (wall volume/total vessel volume) × 100%. Three major plaque com...

CONCLUSIONS: No-reflow in CTO recanalization is rare, but associated with a high risk of periprocedural myocardial infarction, with incomplete protection from ischemia offered by the pre-existing collateral network. PMID: 32005785 [PubMed - in process]

ConclusionUsing18F-FDG PET imaging, we noninvasively demonstrated the therapeutic effects of MCC950 in AMI and showed that18F-FDG PET imaging holds promising application potentials in MCC950 ’s clinical translation.

ConclusionCoronary IVUS has been increasingly used in Portugal since 2003. It is used preferentially in elective PCIs, and in patients with higher cardiovascular risk, with more complex coronary lesions and lesions of the left main coronary artery.

We report the case of a 33-year-old woman with no history of coronary risk factors or chest pain who experienced intermittent chest pain at rest for several minutes from 2 PM. At 8 AM the next day, chest pain recurred and persisted for about 1 hour. She was transported to our hospital by ambulance, where electrocardiogram showed ST-elevation in the precordial leads, and blood tests showed elevation of cardiac markers. She was diagnosed with ST-elevation myocardial infarction. Because she was a young woman without any risk factors, coronary spastic angina was suspected. Coronary angiography without intracoronary nitrate adm...
