Optimal timing of contrast-enhanced three-dimensional magnetic resonance left atrial angiography before pulmonary vein ablation.

CONCLUSIONS: Contrast agent travel time was mainly influenced by left- and right-ventricular function but prediction models poorly fitted the data. Thus, 3-dimensional PV angiography prior to PV ablation procedures necessitates real-time assessment, with visual determination of individual contrast agent passage time to ensure consistently high CMR image quality. In this analysis of the Routine versus Aggressive risk factor driven upstream rhythm Control for prevention of Early atrial fibrillation in heart failure (RACE 3) trial we aimed to determine whether optimal treatment...

Authors: Xie X, Li T Abstract Objective: We investigated the risk of ischaemic stroke in patients with 1 another stroke risk factor (i.e. CHA2DS2-VASc score =1 [males] or 2 [females]) and the impact of different component risk factors. Methods: Database were collected from two hospitals in the city of Hohhot in china. Among 3148 Nonvalvular AF patients not on antiplatelet or anticoagulant therapy, we evaluated males with a CHA2DS2-VASc score of 1 and females with a CHA2DS2-VASc score of 2. The clinical endpoint was the occurrence of ischaemic stroke. Results: Among 546 AF male patients with a CHA2DS2-VASc scor...

Conclusion: Our meta-analysis suggests that uninterrupted DOAC is not superior to VKA in patients undergoing catheter ablation of AF with comparable rates of major bleeding and stroke. PMID: 32056498 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Conclusion: While strategies which longitudinally append patient registration periods under different CPRD IDs maintain independence while using all available data, their implementation had little impact on the results of our case study. PMID: 32056446 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

ConclusionInfarction location in the cerebellum and/or dorsal brainstem is an independent predictor of vertigo. Furthermore, larger infarction volume in these structures is associated with vertigo. A considerable proportion of patients with vascular vertigo present without focal neurological deficits posing a diagnostic challenge. National Institute of Health Stroke Scale is not sensitive for vertebrobasilar stroke.

ConclusionAPES results in significant changes in U ‐AEGM morphology, including width, amplitude and fractionation. The impact of APES differed between APES sequence and between patients with and without AF. These findings suggest that APES could be useful to identify AF related conduction abnormalities in the individual patient. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

Conclusion: Patients with HCM may have higher plasma D-dimer levels than subjects without HCM. D-dimer levels in patients with HCM are influenced by age, sex, atrial fibrillation, statin therapy and diastolic blood pressure. PMID: 32057272 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
