Loin To Groin Pain –A Case Report Of An Intermittent Obturator Hernia Mimicking Ureteric Colic

ConclusionEarly diagnostic imaging with CT while a patient is symptomatic can aid in making an accurate diagnosis. Laparoscopic repair can be safely used with good outcome in the context of an incarcerated obturator hernia.

In this study, we collected raw water from different elements of a local full-scale plant to investigate the fouling characteristics along a two-stage-module NF process. The fouled membranes at different flux decline ratios were autopsied according to scanning electron microscope (SEM), atomic force microscope (AFM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray photoelectron spectrometer (XPS), adenosine triphosphate (ATP), contact angle and zeta potential measurements to track the dynamic evolution of organic, inorganic and biological fouling. Statistical approaches, including principal component analysis (PCA), ...

This study was aimed to estimate the prevalence of chronic pain in different regions of China. Data on pain and its treatment were collected from 9357 participants using questionnaires and telephone-based interviews, from 31 regions of China. Gathered data were then coded into electronic data acquisition system and descriptive and inferential statistical analysis was performed. Out of 9298 participants, the ratio of chronic pain was 31.54% with the proportion of male having chronic pain (33.86%) was higher than that of female (29.53%). The average age of participants with pain (45.02 ± 15.07 years) was higher than f...

ConclusionsOur cases demonstrate that the second ‐order chords of the prolapsing AL can be tethered and that this aspect should be carefully evaluated before surgery, as it can progress over time, affecting the results of surgical repair.

We describe three patients with acute type B aortic dissection complicated by retrograde arch extension and visceral malperfusion who were successfully treated with a total arch replacement and frozen elephant trunk. In patients with acute complicated type B aortic dissection without adequate proximal landing zone, thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) is not feasible. While some uncomplicated patients with retrograde aortic arch extension can be managed non-operatively, patients with distal malperfusion present a challenge. We describe three patients who presented with an acute type B aortic dissection with associate...

Conclusion: This study supports the psychometric properties of the Norwegian Self-Efficacy for Therapeutic Use of Self questionnaire in assessing self-efficacy in therapeutic encounters. Further research is needed to address the misfit items and the rating scale issue.Significance: Rasch analysis showed that the Norwegian Self-Efficacy for Therapeutic Use of Self questionnaire is promising to be used as a reliable and valid tool. Conclusion: People who are overweight or obese are motivated to lose weight because of health issues and feeling more comfortable with their body. The opportunities for weight loss lie in creating habits, routines and structuring everyday life activities to facilitate a healthier lifestyle.Significance: The findings indicate that an occupational therapist should be part of weight-loss interventions. Publication date: March 2020Source: Results in Physics, Volume 16Author(s): Sheng Zou, Hanbin Xiao, Fangping Ye, Zongchen Li, Wenzhi Tang, Feng Zhu, Chentong Chen, Chao ZhuAbstractThe inevitably formed residual stress in the Selective Laser Melting (SLM) process leads to distortion, crack and even delamination of the workpiece. Single laser is commonly applied during SLM processing. However, its productivity is much lower than multiple lasers. In addition, the research of residual stress with multi-laser condition currently is limited in the open documents. In this paper, a three-dimensional (3D) thermo-mechanical model, w...
