The Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy- Our Experiences at Sunderland Royal Hospital in Relation to the SENT Trial

Introduction Regional node management in early oral cancer with an N0 neck has been controversial. The Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy (SLNB) is used as a staging technique to identify early lymph node metastases; hence NICE has recommended it be offered to patients with N0 neck. Our unit offers the SLNB and this study provides results of this procedure since its ’ inception.
