Blood pressure lowering effect and vascular activity of Phyllanthus niruri extract: The role of NO/cGMP signaling pathway and β-adrenoceptor mediated relaxation of isolated aortic rings
ConclusionThis study indicates that the antihypertensive activity of P. niruri extract is mediated by vasoactive phytoconstituents that dilate the arterial wall via endothelium-dependent pathways and β-adrenoceptor activity which, in turn, cause vasorelaxation and reduce blood pressure.Graphical abstract
Suprarenal abdominal aortic coarctation (SAAC) is a congenital midaortic syndrome that develops owing to a developmental anomaly in the fusion of the embryonic dorsal aortae. This condition is associated with severe hypertension, which is usually the indication for intervention. Open surgery is the primary treatment and it typically involves thoracoaortic bypass (TAB), and less commonly patch aortoplasty (PA). Bypass to the visceral vessels has also been performed in conjunction with TAB or PA. The majority undergoing intervention for SAAC are children and adolescents; therefore, the benefits of surgical intervention must ...
Authors: BaHammam AS, Almeneessier AS Abstract Previous studies have assessed the role of gender and menopause in Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). It is well known that menopause is a major risk factor for OSA. However, analogous studies on obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome (OHS) are limited. Recent studies have suggested that OHS is more prevalent in postmenopausal women. Moreover, women with OHS seem to have excess comorbidities, including hypothyroidism, hypertension, pulmonary hypertension, and diabetes mellitus, compared to men. In the present perspective, we discuss recent data on the prevalence and comorbiditie...
75 years old patient, with controlled diabetes and hypertension, very fit. he underwent in 2009, a radical prostatectomy followed 30 fractions of adjuvant 3D conformal radiation therapy to the prostatic bed only. in 2018: PSA rise to 2.16 2019: PSA 2.16 Pet PSMA showed a 7 mm LN at the level of L4-5 secondary lesion, with no recurrence in the tumor bed, neither in bone or other LNs. He was put on decapeptyl + casodex. please vote the poll
ConclusionThe CAPACITY HFpEF trial will provide data on short-term safety and efficacy of praliciguat on peak exercise capacity, as well as multiple secondary endpoints of submaximal functional capacity, patient-reported outcomes, and biomarkers.

We report the case of a 72-year-old woman with limited systemic sclerosis, who was initially diagnosed with systemic sclerosis-related pulmonary arterial hypertension. However, after introduction of sildenafil and bosentan, the patient developed acute pulmonary oedema, and findings from complementary exams were suggestive of PVOD.
ConclusionBoth WHtR and BMI were important predictors of NCD prevalence. These findings can contribute to the validity of the WHtR in clinical application and encourage the use of these anthropometric indices in clinical settings.

Shanura Fernando, BoMi Ryu, Ginnae Ahn, In-Kyu Yeo, You-Jin JeonAbstractBackgroundMetabolic syndrome (MS) defines a group of severe comorbidities, including insulin resistance, abnormal fat accumulation, and high blood pressure that lead to obesity, diabetes, and heart diseases. MS has received a growing concern due to its rising prevalence in many countries. The consumption of high-calorie food, sedentary lifestyle habits, genetic factors, and stress conditions aggravate risk factors for developing metabolic syn...
