Real-world Effectiveness of Liraglutide vs. Sitagliptin Among Older Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Plan: A Retrospective Observational Study

ConclusionsWhen compared to sitagliptin, liraglutide was associated with greater achievement of an HbA1c <  7% over a 1-year period in an older population. This finding was not associated with a statistically significant increase in all-cause total healthcare costs, although costs were slightly higher in the liraglutide group than in the sitagliptin group.
