Use of short-acting beta-2 agonists (SABA) and exacerbations in a nationwide Swedish asthma cohort (HERA)

Conclusion: Among asthma patients in Sweden, one-third were SABA-reliant. As the SABA-reliant patients showed significantly greater exacerbation risk than non-reliant patients, the present data indicates a need for improved management.
