CDC and the Department of Homeland Security?s Customs and Border Protection announced on October 8, enhanced Ebola screening at five U.S. airports that receive over 94 percent of travelers from the Ebola-affected nations of Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. These five airports are New York?s JFK International Airport, Washington-Dulles, Newark, Chicago-O?Hare, and Atlanta International. Updated CDC guidance, supported by ASPR, urges hospitals to limit the spread of the virus in order to protect and maintain their workforce, to prevent hospitals from being a disease amplifier, and to protect non-Ebola patients from infection.
