Adherence to the American Society of Echocardiography and European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging Recommendations for the Evaluation of Left Ventricular Diastolic Function by Echocardiography: A Quality Improvement Project

Echocardiographic assessment of diastolic dysfunction is challenging due to complex underlying physiology, the number of diastolic parameters that can be obtained by echocardiography, and the need for integration of the results of multiple indices to reach an appropriate classification.1 In 2016, a joint task force of the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) and the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) published an update recommendation for evaluation of left ventricular (LV) diastolic function by echocardiography.
