Emergence and spread of pvl-positive genotypic CA-MRSA ST59 with increased adhesion capacity from wounds in hospitals
With great interest we read the article by Butler-Laporte G et al.,1 and here we reported the emergence and spread of pvl-positive genotypic CA-MRSA ST59 with increased adhesion capacity from wounds in hospitals. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) has been a major pathogen causing skin and soft tissue infections (SSTIs) and invasive infections in both healthcare and community settings.1,2. Epidemiological classification and genotypic definition contribute to the understanding of healthcare-associated MRSA (HA-MRSA) and community-associated MRSA (CA-MRSA).
