1.4 time until clinical improvement in the treatment of early-onset schizophrenia spectrum disorders study (teoss)

There is little research on how long to wait for clinical improvement before changing antipsychotic drugs in early-onset schizophrenia. The Treatment of Early-Onset Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorders Study (TEOSS) randomized 119 youth ages 8 –19 years with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, or schizophreniform disorder to 8 weeks of treatment with molindone, risperidone, or olanzapine. Until recently, the publications using TEOSS data found that response rates did not significantly differ for the 3 antipsychotic drugs.
