1.37 omega-3 supplementation for asd

ASD is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by persistent deficits in social communication and social interaction, as well as restricted, repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, and activities. In 2010, it was estimated that the global prevalence of ASD was 7.6 per 1000 (1 in 132). It also is known that the presence of reduced concentration of omega-3 fatty acids has been reported in patients with ASD. The use of omega-3 in ASD has been studied for the symptomatic treatment of the condition.
