273 Characteristics of Centenarians in the Irish Hip Fracture Database

ConclusionThis data provides the first insight into hip fractures in the oldest old in an Irish context. Rate of operative intervention was reassuringly high with in-hospital mortality outcomes of 12% which is low by international standards. The age of those sustaining hip fractures is increasing with numbers of the oldest old expected to rise. Orthogeriatric input results in improved care for this population and will require increased resourcing for future cohorts of patients.
