We thank Pansart et  al1 for their interest in our recent article.2 We agree that consistency in preanalytical methodology, including choice of extraction kit and method for aliquoting fecal samples, is important to ensure consistency of calprotectin results within a study. With regards to our own study, all feca l calprotectins were measured in a single laboratory, the Biochemistry Department at the Western General Hospital. The laboratory used an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay from Calpro AS, Lysaker, Norway.
