Conclusions: Hyperdense choroidal neovascularization based on qualitative assessment of flow density showed a significant relation to active disease. Inactivity could not be matched adequately. Conclusion: In this cross-sectional study, no relation was found between superficial retinal vascular layer foveal avascular zone and GA area. CC flow inside the GA was severely impaired, whereas CC flow outside the GA correlated poorly with both RPE integrity and visual acuity. Fellow eye symmetry suggests that CC monitoring may be a relevant clinical end point in interventional GA studies.

Conclusions The microvascular morphology of type 3 neovascularisation secondary to AMD was assessed at baseline and follow-up and showed significant regression in response to anti-VEGF therapy by OCTA. Quantitative OCTA analysis was also performed and confirmed remarkable regression in response to a single intravitreal anti-VEGF injection.

CONCLUSIONS: OCT-A provides new possibilities for the non-invasive assessment of features of neovascular networks and CNV structural morphology. Newly described activity criteria can also guide therapeutic decisions, and help in evaluating responses. Quantitative and qualitative information can be provided with this technique.
