Practical uses of contrast ‐enhanced spectral mammography in daily work: A pictorial review

SummaryContrast ‐enhanced spectral mammography (CESM) has a number of uses including the work‐up of inconclusive findings on mammography, assessment of breast symptoms, cancer staging, evaluation of response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy and recently as an alternative to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in high‐ risk screening. CESM can be swiftly incorporated into the workflow of busy breast clinics. We share our experiences with CESM at a large breast assessment centre in Western Australia.

The 114 cases were matched with corresponding healthy controls by birth and screening ...

Authors: Wang Q, Huang T, Ji J, Wang H, Guo C, Sun X, Zheng K, Dong Z, Cao Y Abstract Aim: To investigate and validate predictive value of combination of pretreatment monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR) and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) for disease free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) in nonmuscle invasive bladder cancer after transurethral resection. Materials &methods: Total 358 patients enrolled were assigned into three (MLR-NLR 0, 1 and 2) groups per the cut-off values of MLR and NLR. Results: Kaplan-Meier curves showed MLR, NLR and their combination were statistically associated with DFS (p

Authors: Albisinni S, Veccia A, Aoun F, Diamand R, Esperto F, Porpiglia F, Roumeguère T, De Nunzio C Abstract INTRODUCTION: Robotic assisted radical cystectomy (RARC) is gaining popularity worldwide, although its enthusiastic implementation is supported mainly by retrospective studies. Aim of this review is to compare the outcomes of RARC and open radical cystectomy (ORC) in the setting of randomized controlled trials (RCTs). EVIDENCE ACQUISITION: Three search engines (PubMed, Embase®, and Web of Science) were queried up to January 1, 2019. Studies selections followed The Preferred Reporting Items fo...

Authors: De Luca S, Fiori C, Bollito E, Garrou D, Aimar R, Cattaneo G, De Cillis S, Manfredi M, Tota D, Massa F, Passera R, Porpiglia F Abstract BACKGROUND: To evaluate if multiparametric magnetic resonance (mpMRI)- transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) fusion targeted biopsy (TBx) versus untargeted standard biopsy (SBx) may decrease the rate of pathological upgrading of Gleason score (GS) 3+4 prostate cancer (PCa) at radical prostatectomy (RP). We also evaluated the impact of percent pattern 4 and cribriform glands at biopsy in the risk of GS 3 + 4 = 7 upgrading. METHODS: 301 patients with GS 3+4 PCa on biopsy (159 SB...

Dendritic cells (DCs) are the most potent professional antigen-presenting cells and are involved in the induction and regulation of antitumor immune responses. DC-based immunotherapy has been used in clinical trials for PC. Although safety, efficacy, and immune activation were reported in patient...

ConclusionsThe efficacy of crizotinib in patients with advanced NSCLC is related to the number of metastatic organs, age and timing of treatment. The use of crizotinib is prone to intracranial progression, and progression of simple brain metastases is not an indication that crizotinib is discontinued. Patients will continue to benefit from combination of local radiotherapy.
