ConclusionsThere is a significant association between elevated preoperative Gal-3 levels and risk of mortality after isolated coronary artery bypass grafting surgery. An assessment of the relationship between preoperative serum biomarkers and long-term survival can be used for risk stratification or estimating postsurgical prognosis.
