Risk-Taking Propensity, Affect, and Alcohol Craving in Adolescents' Daily Lives.

Conclusions/Importance: Momentary fluctuations in positive affect predicted acute increases in craving but only in moments when adolescents demonstrated higher levels of risk-taking propensity, as captured with an EMA-delivered behavioral task. Momentary risk-taking assessments offer new avenues to substantiate dominant theories on the driving mechanisms of craving and alcohol use among adolescents.
