We report our experience using superflab bolus as vaginal packing to displace OAR during interstitial brachytherapy. Material and methods: Twelve patients with stage IB-IVA gynecologic cancer were treated with definitive chemoradiation including interstitial brachytherapy. CONCLUSIONS: The incidence rate of PIF among patients who received RT for locally advanced cervical cancer was 15.8%. The principal predisposing factors for post-radiation PIF were postmenopausal state, rheumatoid arthritis, and HDR-ICBT use. Active interventions, including bone density screening followed by medication, should be considered during the early stage of RT for women with high-risk factors of PIF. We presented the case of a 41-year-old female diagnosed with a biopsy that was proven cervical cancer stage IIIB. At diagnosis, the imaging studies identified an anteverted uterus. The patient underwent preoperative chemoradiotherapy. Prior to brachytherapy, the patient underwent a pelvic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which identified a displacement of the uterus in the retroverted position. CONCLUSIONS: MRI-TRUS fusion guided salvage HDR-BT +/- EBRT is a feasible procedure for patients with local macroscopic relapse in tumor bed after radical prostatectomy. ConclusionsCholine-PET/CT has a high global sensitivity while WB-DW-MRI has a high specificity, and so they are complementary techniques. Future studies with more enrolled patients and a longer follow-up period will be required to confirm these data.
