2013 Hernia Resident/Fellow Research Grant American Hernia Society Foundation together with Davol, Inc. One $25,000 grant will be awarded to a qualified and approved grant applicant for research related to ventral, parastomal or hiatal hernias in the following topic areas: Prevention of hernia formation Innovative techniques for hernia repair Factors affecting the incidence and recurrence of hernias Complications related to hernia repair Health economics Application due date: March 15, 2013 GRANT AVAILABILITY: Grants are made possible through the generous support of Davol, Inc. Grants are limited to up to $25,000 for a period of one year, and are made to the institution. Studies may be either clinical (human) or pre-clinical (animal/bench). GRANT GUIDELINES: Grants are awarded to the institution and not to the individual. It is assumed that some of the resources required to conduct the project are available through the investigator’s institution. The research grant serves to provide supplemental support for personnel, equipment or services required to complete the research. It cannot be used toward salary support for the AHS member faculty. The award shall be used for direct costs only; indirect costs are not covered. Scanned copies of all necessary institutional approvals (IRB, RDC and/or IACUC) are required before any funds are released. This approval is not required at time of grant application.
