Image scanning microscopy.

Image scanning microscopy. Curr Opin Chem Biol. 2019 Jun 12;51:74-83 Authors: Gregor I, Enderlein J Abstract Image Scanning Microscopy (ISM) has emerged as a successful and robust technique which nearly doubles the spatial resolution of a confocal microscope by simple means. Meanwhile, it has found implementation into several highly successful commercial systems, and it has branched into different experimental realizations. The review gives a brief introduction into the basic principles of ISM, and it reports about recent progress and applications of this new microscopy technique.
