Thrombectomy with Conscious Sedation Compared with General Anesthesia: A DEFUSE 3 Analysis [INTERVENTIONAL]
CONCLUSIONS:
Patients who underwent thrombectomy with conscious sedation in the extended time window experienced a higher likelihood of functional independence at 90 days, a lower NIHSS score at 24 hours, and a shorter time from femoral puncture to reperfusion compared with those who had general anesthesia. This effect remained robust in institutions that only treated patients with a single anesthesia technique.
