Association of Staphylococcus aureus colonization with food allergy occurs independently of eczema severity
Staphylococcus aureus has been implicated in the pathophysiology of eczema, allergic rhinitis, asthma, and food allergy. S aureus is a marker of more severe eczema, which is a risk factor for food sensitization/allergy. Therefore it might be that the association between S aureus and food allergy in eczematous patients is related to eczema severity.
We report a rare case of vascular ring with Kommerell diverticulum leading to a misdiagnosis of asthma in a 39 ‐year‐old woman. Anomalies of the aortic arch associated with Kommerell diverticulum (KD) are rare congenital malformations. Symptomatic thoracic vascular rings presenting in adults are rare. We report a case of a 39 ‐year‐old woman who was diagnosed with uncontrolled asthma. She was complaining of worsening respiratory symptoms with dysphagia. Imaging studies and preoperative findings concluded to type II congenital anomaly of the aortic arch or Neuhauser's anomaly: a right‐sided aortic arch with aberra...

CONCLUSION: The knowledge of hand hygiene practices, high frequency of handwashing, and wearing different gloves during the procedure of each patient decrease S.aureus nasal carriage in HCWs. In addition mupirocin is still effective in nasal S.aureus carriers. PMID: 32096773 [PubMed - in process]
Conclusion: The traditional use of the extracts in infections and inflammatory conditions is rationalized based on the active principles present in the oils and it has been formulated for use in many infections of bacterial and fungal pathogens.
Authors: Yilmaz I, Türk M, Nazik Bahçecioğlu S, Tutar N, Gülmez I Abstract BACKGROUND: Oral corticosteroid (OCS) dependent severe eosinophilic asthma with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (SEA-CRSwNP) would be a suitable phenotype for mepolizumab treatment. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the short-term efficacy of mepolizumab treatment on the OCS dependant SEA-CRSwNP Methods: Baseline and 24th-week results [daily OCS doses, asthma exacerbation frequency, asthma control test(ACT) scores, blood eosinophil levels, FEV1 values and numerical analog scale (NAS) of CRSwNP symptoms] of the patients th...
