We present unusual treatment outcome in a 59-year-old male diagnosed with metastatic lung adenocarcinoma with a very good response to ruxolitinib as monotherapy. In June 2017, this patient was diagnosed with myeloproliferative neoplasm – Janus-associated kinases 2 positive – and in December 2017 ruxolitinib therapy was started. We describe a case involving a 67-year-old ovarian cancer patient who underwent multiple lines of chemotherapy and presented with recurrent disease and a CA-125 of 4112 U/mL. Thenceforth, she was treated with GL-ONC1 oncolytic viral therapy that was administered laparoscopically in accordance with a clinical trial. ConclusionsThe combination of high ‐detailed TVS, directed to predict tumor dimensions and local spread, performed by a trained operator, combined with 18 FDG PET/CT and physical examination, can assist in selecting optimal treatment for cervical cancer patients, thus avoiding unnecessary operations.
We present images of 177Lu-DOTATATE scan and 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT scan conducted on a 65-year-old man with prostate cancer with neuroendocrine differentiation, whose disease progressed despite conventional treatment and 177Lu-PSMA radioligand therapy; however, an extraordinary radiographic tumor remission, biochemical response, and improvement of clinical symptoms were observed after the patient underwent 177Lu-DOTATATE peptide receptor radionuclide therapy.
A 63-year-old man, recently diagnosed with carcinoma of the prostate (Gleason’s score 4+4), with serum prostate-specific antigen 189.2 ng/mL, underwent 68Ga PSMA PET/CT scan for pretreatment staging. The study revealed abnormal tracer uptake in the prostatic bed region, the pelvic, abdominal, and mediastinal lymph nodes and diffuse metastases to the bilateral lungs. The lung metastasis was proved to be metastatic adenocarcinoma from analysis of bronchoalveolar lavage.
Conclusion Metabolic tumor volume and total lesion glycolysis may be used as prognostic factors for endometrial cancer. The association between SUVmax and clinical findings, disease-free survival, histopathological features are weak. Further studies are needed for demonstrating the prognostic value of metabolic volumetric parameters.
Conclusion18F-FDG PET proved to be a valuable tool for precise initial staging of pediatric soft-tissue sarcoma patients, especially in detecting lymph node metastasis, and could be included in their initial work-up. Given the relative rarity and heterogeneity of this group of tumors, additional investigations are required to definitely establish a role for18F-FDG PET in the initial staging and therapy planning of soft-tissue sarcoma in the pediatric population.
Conclusion. 18F-FDG PET/CT imaging is a noninvasive imaging technique that can be crucial in the diagnosis of sarcoidosis of the spinal cord and help avoid unnecessary procedures. Level of Evidence: 4
