Pre-existing Right Ventricular Dysfunction and Major Cardiac Events. Propensity-Score Matching or Regression Analysis?

We would like to thank Dr. Meng and Dr. Liu for their interest in our previously published article in which we evaluated the association between pre-existing right ventricular dysfunction and postoperative major adverse cardiac events in high-risk patients undergoing major vascular surgery using multivariate regression analysis. In their letter to the editor, Dr. Meng and Dr. Liu suggested the use of propensity-score matching (PSM) over-regression analysis because the comparative groups in the original study cohort had unbalanced baseline characteristics.
