Effects of Ankaferd Hemostat on Helicobacter pylori strains and antibiotic resistance

Conclusion: Our present study indicated, for the first time, that ABS could act against H. pylori. ABS is clinically used for the management of GI bleeding due to benign and malignant GI lesions. Thus, the possible anti-H. pylori effect of ABS shall expand the therapeutic spectrum of the drug in GI lesions in relation to H. pylori infection such as peptic ulser disease (PUD) and lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphomagenesis. In this study a new strategy of making natural products magnetic for potential separation and pharmaceutical purposes for the first time. As a model, a series of isoquinoline alkaloid-based Fe(III) compounds were prepared and characterized by UV–Vis, Raman and ESI-MS spectra, successively. The magnetic properties of the obtained compounds in solid status were measured by VSM and Guye method, it was found these molecules were paramagnetic because of the iron in their anionic part, and the magnetic susceptibility were in the range of 2–4 × 10−5. Furthermore, their responsiveness to external magnet...

Matrine, a reactive and bioactive alkaloid found in a Chinese herb medicine from the genus Sophora, was used to synthesize a novel family of matrinium-based room temperature ILs, featuring a series ...

The Box-tree Moth, Cydalima perspectalis, is an Asian species of moth (usually seen in (Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea, the Russian Far East, and India), that is gradually spreading, presumably with the advent of box hedges on new housing estates, across the South East of England. Box-tree Moth, Cydalima perspectalis (Walker, 1859), to actinic light Jul 2019, VC29 It would’ve arrived as eggs/larvae on imported box (Buxus), first recorded here in 2007. Its larvae can destroy a box hedge. Another reason to go native when it comes to planting…probably too late for native box now though. I saw my first one in the tra...

Thus, there is an urgent need to discover new treatments for inflammatory disorders. In recent years, the natural products contained in Chinese herbs have attracted much attention worldwide owing to their anti-inflammatory effects. Paeoniflorin (PF) is a bioactive compound purified from the Chinese herb Paeonia lactiflora and reports have recently emerged suggesti...

Authors: Thabet AF, Moeen SM Abstract Treatment of chronic primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is challenging especially with limited resources and therapy-related complications. This prospective interventional study assessed the efficacy and safety of triple therapy(TT4); a combination treatment of oral dexamethasone 40 mg for days1-4, oral cyclosporine A 2-3 mg/kg daily for 28 consecutive days and intravenous rituximab 100 mg for days7,14,21 and 28 among 40 patients with ITP who failed previous 2 or more treatment options. Our aim was to maintain platelet count ≥ 30 X 109/L without any obvious bleeding at an...

Drawing on the Web of Science as the primary database, the analysis shows that while academic interest in AMR has increased substantially over the last few years, social science research continues to constitute a negligible share of total academic contributions. This study aims to investigate the current status of FI among patients with severe neurological conditions and to further determine the correlation between FI and their poor prognosis. Methods: A retrospective analysis of the medical data of 58 patients who stayed for more than 3 days in the neurointensive care unit (NICU) of the Department of Neurology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University between January 2017 and December 2017, was carried out. These patients' diagnoses included five categories (Stroke, Paroxysmal disease, Peripheral nerve disease, Central nervous system infection, Other diseas...

CONCLUSIONS: The rate of overall complications after TRUS was low. The most common complications requiring emergency attendances and hospitalisations were gross haematuria and acute urinary retention, respectively. Prostate volume>48 cc increased the risk of post-biopsy urinary retention. PMID: 31601774 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
