Theta burst transcranial magnetic stimulation for posttraumatic stress disorder

Background: Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a chronic psychiatric disorder associated with disruption in social and occupational function. Available treatments are less effective at reducing symptoms and improving function in military veterans. To this end, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) represents a novel approach to PTSD. Intermittent theta-burst stimulation (iTBS) is a new, more rapid TMS protocol with emerging data supporting efficacy in depression.
