Former M.D. Anderson president dies at 82

Dr. John Mendelsohn, president emeritus of the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, died Jan. 7 from glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer with which late Arizona Sen. John McCain also was diagnosed, according to a press release. Mendelsohn was 82 and had been diagnosed 15 months ago, per the release.
