EBV-positive mucocutaneous ulcer mimicking a peri-implantitis in a patient with systemic lupus erythematosus

The Epstein –Barr virus (EBV)-positive mucocutaneous ulcer (EBVMCU) is a lymphoproliferative disorder, characterized clinically by cutaneous and/or mucosal ulcers in patients receiving immunosuppressive drugs, most commonly methotrexate and azathioprine, or in elderly, probably because of age-related immunose nescence. It was firstly described in 2010 by Dojcinov et al.1 and listed as a distinctive clinicopathological entity in the recent 2017 World Health Organization (WHO) classification of lymphoid neoplasms.
