CONCLUSION: Sputum suction and alveolar lavage with portable fibrobronchoscope can significantly improve the hypoxia and pulmonary infections, reduce the inflammatory response, and thus improve the prognosis, rendering suction and alveolar lavage with portable fibrobronchoscope as a safe and effective treatment for non-severe ischemic SAP patients with dysphagia. ConclusionThis innovative use of milrinone, if applied in more captured patients with internal carotid occlusion or those with reversible hemodynamic failure, would improve our understanding of the ischemic thresholds and cerebral vascular reserves and would improve the clinical outcome of this significant ischemic insult.

AbstractPurpose of ReviewHere, we describe the four primary imaging modalities for identification of carotid artery dissection, advantages, limitations, and clinical considerations. In addition, imaging characteristics of carotid dissection associated with each modality will be described.Recent FindingsRecent advances in etiopathogenesis describe the genetic factors implicated in cervical artery dissection. MRI/MRA (magnetic resonance angiography) with fat suppression is regarded as the best initial screening test to detect dissection. Advances in magnetic resonance imaging for the diagnosis of dissection include the use o...

AbstractObjectivesTo produce a scoring system for predicting the development of edema in ischemic stroke patients without edema on admission.MethodsThis retrospective study included 572 ischemic stroke patients (73.3  ± 13.0 years, 300 male) without signs of cerebral edema on the first CT scan, which was performed on admission. Another scan was normally performed 3 days later, and subsequently whenever needed. Edema was defined as cerebral hypodensity with compression of lateral ventricles. The main clini cal, laboratory, and instrumental variables obtained during the first 24 h were rel...

ConclusionYounger initiation of HRT may be effective in reducing death and cardiac events. However, younger HRT initiators remained at an increased risk of stroke, TIA and systemic embolism and this risk increased as average age increased. Younger menopausal women using HRT to treat vasomotor symptoms do not appear to be at an increased risk of dying or experiencing CHD events.

Conclusion: Our population-based study yielded a higher incidence rate than prior North-American studies. Important care gaps exist including delayed diagnosis, lack of expert care, and departure from published treatment guidelines. Variability in ICD PPV and yield underlines the need for prospective data collection and for improving the pediatric stroke and TIA coding processes.Neuroepidemiology 2019;52:119 –127
