Effect of selected antidepressant drugs on weight loss post-bariatric surgery: a single-center, retrospective chart review
Background: Anxiety and depression are common in obesity. Antidepressants, as a first line treatment, may cause weight gain, Their impact on weight loss following bariatric surgery is not well studied. We compared effects of the selected antidepressants fluoxetine, paroxetine, and bupropion on weight loss at 6 months and 1 year post bariatric surgery.
