Absolute benefit from adjuvant chemotherapy in contemporary clinical trials: a systemic review and meta-analysis

The vast majority of breast cancer patients present with non-metastatic, potentially curable disease [1]. Adjuvant treatment in early-stage breast cancer has improved over time and chemotherapy has a key role in the adjuvant setting especially in patients with high risk disease as defined by classical pathology or genomic markers [2]. Adjuvant chemotherapy has evolved and currently there are 3 chemotherapy generations, with later generations showing higher efficacy than those developed earlier [3].
