Cowden Syndrome: a Case Report
A 55-year-old woman, referred by her periodontist, undergoing treatment for sensitivity developed while brushing teeth, had a background history of papillary thyroid carcinoma and breast cancer and a positive family history for papillary thyroid carcinoma. An intraoral examination indicated oral mucosal papillomatosis. Multiple pink nodules, firm, painless to palpation, appearing to coalesce, were seen bilaterally on the buccal mucosa. Multiple asymptomatic papules with a cobblestone-like appearance were seen in the gingiva.
